Cherry Hills Village Newborn Session | Mia

What a special Cherry Hills Village newborn session this was! This amazing family was stationed at Fort Knox when they contacted me for their coming baby girls newborn session. I am always honored when families are willing to make a drive to me and so I was so excited to meet them when they made the hours drive to the studio!

We started the session with sibling photos. How cute are they! You never know what to expect when a toddler is going to be involved in the Cherry Hills Village session, but it was unmistakable how much Mia’s big brother and sister love her! It was wonderful to start the session with smiles and sweet kisses. We even got an individual photo of each of them so that everyone has an updated photo!

Momma brought in a couple of special items to use during the session and this one was so special! Dad is a native Samoan and they wanted to celebrate his heritage by using this floral crown full of Hawaiian flowers. She wore it beautifully!

Sweet little Mia was a rainbow baby. All babies are a blessing, but I try to make sure to get a special photo to celebrate when we have a rainbow baby in the studio. This photo with the rainbow in the heart felt like a beautiful way to honor that.

After we finished up the wrapped portion of Mia’s session, we slowly unwrapped her and moved on to the posed portion of the session. She was such a doll!

I love getting those full-body photos to show off how small they are in that moment. It’s so special to be able to look back at how tiny your baby once was. But I also love getting a few detail shots as well! From tiny toes, baby cheeks, and baby rolls, all those details are so precious!

We finished the session with one last special item. Momma brought in the necklace that she wore on her wedding day in hopes that we could include it in the session. This seemed like a perfect way to show it off. What a sweet little crown it made for Mia!
