Castle Rock CO Newborn Session | Tay’Lyn

Castle Rock CO Newborn sessions are always a magical experience, but every little one brings their own personality and surprises to the table. Tay’Lyn’s session was a perfect reminder that no two shoots are ever the same and that unplanned moments can be the most precious.

At just 9 weeks old, Tay’Lyn was full of curiosity and energy, which made for some wonderfully candid shots. Although she only slept for a small portion of the Castle Rock CO newborn session (as many 9-week-olds tend to do), we were able to capture so many moments of her bright, inquisitive eyes and sweet little expressions.

After the first pose that had Tay’Lyn taking in the world around her with wide eyes, she finally surrendered to the warmth of sleep. Her tiny eyelids fluttered, then settled into peaceful stillness, allowing me to capture the perfect moments.

We were able to capture a range of poses that showed off her little features. In every Castle Rock newborn session, I like to feature the baby’s tiny details, and this was no different. Knowing that she would never be any tinier than the, it was important to capture just how peaceful her face rested when she slept. Her sweet little baby lips and wispy newborn eyelashes were just perfection!

When we started to unwrap her for the second half of the session, Tay’Lyn decided it was time to be wide awake for the rest of the session, and while we didn’t get as many sleepy shots as we hoped, we ended up with something even better: a collection of images showing her vibrant personality. Her eyes were full of wonder, and every expression seemed to tell a new story.

One of the sweetest moments came when we were able to catch Tay’Lyn in a few “smiling” shots (though let’s be honest, those newborn smiles might be gas—but they’re still adorable!). Her little face lit up in ways that only a 9-week-old can, and we couldn’t get enough.

Toward the end of the Castle Rock CO newborn session, we were able to convince Tay’Lyn’s mom to join in for a few photos, which was the perfect way to wrap up the day. There’s nothing like the connection between a mother and her baby, and being able to capture those tender moments on camera made for some stunning photos.

Despite the unexpected twist of a mostly awake newborn, Tay’Lyn’s session turned out to be one of those unforgettable experiences. Every moment, whether planned or unplanned, was filled with love, joy, and the undeniable bond between mother and child. While newborn photos are often thought of as “sleepy baby” moments, this session showed us that there’s so much beauty in capturing the energy and spirit of a little one who’s just beginning to explore the world.
