Castle Pines CO Newborn Session | Theodore

Little Theodore was just perfect for my first Castle Pines CO newborn session since moving back to Colorado! He was outside of the normal two-week range for a typical newborn session. He was born perfectly healthy and on time so he was a little chunkier than the babies I normally see. But that was all the better to show off his sweet little cheeks! I’ll never turn a newborn away for being too old, and I’m so glad I got to spend my morning with this handsome guy!

I almost always start sessions with the family, and this one was no different. These first time parents were so in love with their new addition. Their love and pride was written all over their faces as they cuddled him!

After the parent photos were finished, we moved on to focus just on Theodore. He snuggled right in and we got some adorable shots of him all wrapped up. I loved getting to use some new colors and I think they were just perfect for him!

Baby beds are my prop weakness! I don’t think there is a single one that I look at and not think that I need to add it to my collection. This one is one of my newest and I thought it was just the perfect bed to fit with the style of Theodores session. Simple and classic!

We finished up the prop photos and just had one last setup with him all wrapped up. I love how these poses show off his tiny little fingers and accentuate his perfect baby cheeks! This is also where he started giving me the cutest smiles. Just wait till you see how many we captured!

It’s normally at this portion of the Castle Pines CO newborn session where the baby might wake up and want to eat. The time since they’ve eaten last and unwrapping them can work together and we often have to take a snack break. This was the case with Theodore. When we started back in, the froggy pose was always next in my lineup. He was calm and relaxed but not quite fully asleep yet. He peeks his eyes open every once in a while. I’ve captured a few babies in this pose with their eyes open, but then he surprised us all with his big grin to go along with showing off his baby blues!

He had one last smile for me as he cuddled the cutest little fox!

We finished the Castle Pines CO newborn session with this pretty golden color to match how we started. I love that we get to capture those baby roles and see how tiny they are. Even though he was three weeks old, he’ll never be smaller than this and it’s so special to be able to look back on no matter how old he is!
